This class is part of: Theatre Maker classes
A weekend course looking at how you can use devising and improvisation to make a short film script. This is a new and exciting way of approaching film making, where you are in control of the work.
Who could benefit from this course?
Actors, writers, directors, anyone interested in making new work for film.
Are you an actor wanting to break into film and going up for casting after casting for small parts in bad scripts that you never get and don’t really want anyway?
Are you a performer who loves making new work for the stage and has an interest in doing the same for film?
Are you someone who loves film and wants to make one, be that as actor, director or screen writer?
How does it work?
Using devising and improvisation exercises from practitioners such as Boal, Noel Grieg, Mike Leigh, Richard Hahlo, Viola Spolin, and Keith Johnstone we will devise a short film script over two days. On the final afternoon we will shoot a rough cut of the work to show how to make a film.
Supportive feedback and guidance will be given throughout.
A small friendly ensemble based group working together to create inspiring and interesting work.
What do you gain?
An understanding of how to perform, write and make a short film.
Inspiration and confidence to work with others to create new work.
Acting techniques based around devising and improvisation for actors, directors and writers (or all three!) to be used in future work.
Cost£180.00 (10% discount for Vanguard Members & Theatre Maker Members - you must be logged in to your member account to receive the discount and places are (very) limited as the classes are small, so get booking!)
